Thank you for your continuing support and financial donations that underpin the smooth running of St. Mary’s Parish Church. Our audited accounts for 2019 are now available for download. After a normal start to 2020, the Covid 19 pandemic brought the country to a standstill in early March with a knock on impact on our finances.
Weekly donations are down by 54% from €24, 730 in the first half year 2019 to €11,435 for the same period of 2020. In addition the monthly maintenance donations are down by 48% over the same period. The buffer of an end of year surplus for 2019, the Covid 19 wage subsidy scheme and the early receipt of €5.699 by way of Revenue rebate has resulted in only a slight reduction of €960 or 1.9% in our Balance Sheet for the period (€51,688 at 31st December 2019 to €50,728 on the 13th July 2020).
The outlook for the second half of 2020 is at best for a break even by year end.
The new income stream from office space rental at the Presbytery and a continuation of the Wage Subsidy scheme should all help to underwrite an expected 50% reduction in weekly donations over the same period. Please continue to donate what you can on a weekly basis at any of our Masses on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday, or via this website by hitting the donate button.
Thanking you on Behalf of the Finance Committee.
John McMonagle (Chairperson), Fr. Sean Hanafin, Mary Holland, Kitty Kelly, Amanda O’Sullivan, Seamus Enright, Declan Downey, Gabriel McNamara, James Lavery and Paddy Creedon.
